- Prison outbreaks: Hubei, the Chinese province at the center of the novel coronavirus outbreak, announced 631 new cases today after including infections in prisons.
- Death toll rises: The total number of infected worldwide stands at over 76,600 and at least 2,200 people have died -- all but 11 in mainland China.
- South Korea cases spike: Cases in the Asian country have soared from 28 a week ago to at least 204. The latest cases are mainly centered around a religious group in the southern city of Daegu.
- Cruise passengers return: Evacuees from the stricken Diamond Princess cruise ship have tested positive for the virus after arriving in the US and Australia. Cruise goers who tested negative continue to disembark as more infections were reported today.
