Provincial health officials reported 33 new cases of the virus today, down substantially from the 115 confirmed on Monday and the 79 reported on Sunday.
The latest disclosure shows -21 new cases in Toronto due to "routine data clean-up," Health Minister Christine Elliott tweeted on Tuesday morning.
According to today's summary, the highest number of new infections were reported in Windsor (10), Southwestern Public Health (8), Ottawa (7), and Peel Region (7).
"With 75 more resolved, we continue to see a persistent decline in the number of active cases in the province," Elliott's tweet read.
The province processed 21,581 tests over the past 24 hours, a notable dip from the 28,000 completed on Saturday.
More than 70 per cent of new infections involve people under the age of 40.
No new deaths were recorded over the past 24 hours and no new outbreaks were confirmed in Ontario long-term care homes.
The number of virus-related hospitalizations currently sits at 60 and of those patients, 21 are in intensive care and 12 are on ventilators.
The total number of lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Ontario is now 40,194, including 2,786 deaths and 36,456 recoveries.
There are 952 active cases of COVID-19 remaining in the province.
