As of March 22, Toronto Public Health has reported 220 positive cases of the virus in the city — nine of which are hospitalized, with five in intensive care. Five other people have recovered from the illness. One person has died from COVID-19. The first reported case of COVID-19 in Canada was in Toronto on Jan. 25.
In Ontario, as of March 22, there are 413 confirmed positive cases of COVID-19. Eight others have recovered from the illness, and three people have died. There are 8,361 cases currently under investigation. Provincial health officials have tested 26,419 patients for the virus to date.
