- The numbers: More than 3.5 million cases of the novel coronavirus, including at least 247,000 deaths have been recorded worldwide according to Johns Hopkins University.
- In the US: More than 1.1 million cases and at least 67,000 Covid-19 related deaths have been recorded.
- Lockdowns ease: Many parts of India are now under less severe measures as the third extension of a nationwide lockdown began on Monday. As countries in Europe start to reopen, Italy is easing some restrictions, including allowing funerals with up to 15 attendees.
